Connie started her career in the Chinese judicial system, as a labor arbitrator judging labor disputes in Guangzhou. After several years, she decided to enter private practice at Wang Jing & Co. She went on to work for global law firms Clyde & Co. and Armstrong Teasdale in Shanghai, and then moved in-house, first at Italian chocolate company Ferrero and then at US apparel brand GAP.
Connie’s current focus is on privacy and data protection, cyber security, and regulatory matters, including data security inspections and assessments, establishing data compliance system, filings with the Cybersecurity Administration (CAC) and dealing with government inspections. She also has a lot of experience dealing with legal matters for the retail industry, including corporate, employment, commercial leasing, e-commerce compliance and dispute resolution.
Connie graduated from the Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (LL.B.) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (LL.M.).
She has been admitted both to the China Bar Association and the New York Bar Association; additionally, Connie is licensed as a PRC labor arbitrator.
She speaks fluent English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).
